K324 19th century original blue painted wooden Lantern featuring four bubbled glass panels (one panel is cracked) contained within a wooden pinned and post construction frame. The wood is pine. The door to access the candle area is fully mortised and pegged and is attached with tiny snipe hinges and secured with a tiny wire loop that turns to open the door. The top is covered with a curved piece of sheet metal to create a hood that protects the candle flame from wind/rain. A wire bale handle is attached to the top for carrying/hanging purposes. Circa mid-1800s. Measurements: ~6 ¾” square x ~17 ¼” tall (with handle up).

G393 Quaint small sized berry gathering basket in old lipstick red paint. The 5” square base gradually tapers to an 8 1/2” wide circular opening. Single wrapped rim with tightly woven sides. Steamed and bent, notched handle is sturdy and incorporates a tiny knot - adding a bit of character! Evidence of very early home / "make-do" repairs on the basket's bottom appears to have been for reinforcement purposes.

L81 Great large-sized 19th century round woven splint oak swing handle basket with original surface, bearing a thick, sturdy hand-carved steamed and bent swing handle that is notched and woven into the sides. The double wooden rim is double wrapped for added strength. The tightly woven bottom includes a slightly bumped up interior.

L77 19th century Virginia Pie Safe / Jelly Cupboard with applied gallery and a total of 6 hand punched beautifully patterned tins in the front. This piece retains its old blue over the original red painted surface. Each door is fully mortised and wooden pegged construction and features three inset tins attached with small wire nails. The case is square head nail construction. Ends feature half-moon cut out feet. Circa 1840s – 1860s. Very clean, natural patina interior. The woods are walnut and poplar. Measurements: 43” wide x 16” deep x 58 ¼” tall. Each tin measures ~9” wide x ~13” tall.

L47 Scarce 19th century Yelloware / Yellow ware Stoneware Colander. There is a set of ‘hanging holes’ up by the rolled rim, and a series of diamond-shaped holes that surround the footed base. The pattern of holes within the footed base create a snowflake style pattern. Excellent condition.

RM1574 Pre-Civil War era H. Aston US model 1842 percussion pistol, .54 caliber, with walnut stock. The lock is inscribed “Middtn Conn 1851” and “Aston & C…” This maker manufactured and supplied the U.S. Army with 6,000 of these pistols in 1851-1852 – making this the last percussion pistol to see service. Measures 14” long with an 8 ½” long round barrel.

Each leg is mortised into the underside of the top. A wide, chamfered edge brace is incorporated into the legs for added support. The underside of the top features chamfered ends that match the edges of the brace. Nice, sturdy stool. The wood is pine. Measurements: 17 ¾” long x 9 5/8” wide x 16” tall.

The single door below opens to reveal an original blue painted interior. Batton on door boasts large rosehead nails. Circa 1800-1820s.

XXXX4 18th century Eastern Shore, Maryland splay leg Hepplewhite table bearing original blue painted surface. The underside of the top boasts chamfered edges - giving the appearance of a thinner top – and is secured to the base with large rosehead nails and wooden pegs. The end of each splay leg is mortised into the underside of the top. From Caroline County, Maryland. Circa 1750-1780s.

K1872 19th century New England Pantry Box bearing early soldier blue over original white painted surface. The steamed and bentwood constructed sides and rim of lid are secured to the top and bottom with tacks and tiny wooden pegs.

H1004 Late 19th century wooden Country Store Advertising Riser in original red painted surface with "Universal Food Chopper" painted in gold letters around the top. This stand was used as a store display for Universal Food Choppers for sale in the late 1890’s – early 1900s when the tool became a necessity in kitchens for grinding meats and vegetables.

H176 HOOKED RUG, rectangular form, depicting two hunters with a dog, the hunter in the back shooting his rifle at a flock of birds. Trees and cattails line the scene, mountains and blue sky in the background. Very tightly hooked wool on burlap, with wool binding applied to edges. Mounted to fabric on a wooden stretcher for hanging. Second quarter/mid 20th century.

L39 Pair of Canvasback decoys carved by Earl Dunbar “Dick” Hipple (1891-1980) of Havre de Grace, Maryland boasting the "F" brand on the underside of both – for the collection of Henry Fleckenstein. Both decoys retain what appears to be the original paint, and both show evidence of being shot over.

L30 Miniature Canada Goose Decoy – signed and dated “Victor Berg 11/90” on bottom. Victor “Vic” Berg is a decoy carver from the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Original surface featuring painted eyes and slightly raised wings.

L33 Vintage exceptionally detailed handcrafted sculpture of a Decoy Carver sitting on a spool of rope, whittling a wooden duck decoy. The head, hat, hands and feet appear to be constructed of a type of clay and he is wearing real fabric clothing. Sculpture rests on a wooden base with original sticker on bottom - signed by artist: H. Hoecker for Allison Hunt Studios - Cape Cod.

The sides of the box are fitted with a pair of oval stamped tin handle mounts. Fitted with an arched wire swing handle with wooden hand grip. L13 Large 19th century American carved Rocking Horse on bow rockers. The solid wooden carved horse retains its gray painted surface and rests on original salmon painted with blue pinstripe decorated rockers. One rocker has a very early brace that travels along the length of the rocker. Horse boasts painted eyes, great detailed carved nose/mouth and is adorned with a straw stuffed leather saddle with horsehair mane and tail, realistic metal / leather accoutrements and a saddle blanket. Circa 1850s-1860s.

RM1563 Early 19th century New England wooden turned bowl in original blue paint. Bowl is slightly out of round, features a band around the rim and shows strong evidence of slow lathe turning on both the interior and exterior. Natural patina interior. Great wear.

This type of mold was used as a pattern to make Papier Mache’ Christmas, Easter and Halloween items. You can see fine knife cuts on the arms where the Papier Mache was cut away when dry. K1715 Hand forged blacksmith made 1700s 18th century pair of sugar cutter. It is used to chop large chunks of rock sugar into smaller portions, a kitchen necessity in the 18th century . This particular pair has great decorative bands around the jointed area.

RM1561 Civil War Ames Model 1840 Heavy Cavalry Saber Sword with scabbard. This model saber was called the "wrist breaker” as it is a relatively heavy cavalry saber that was manufactured before, and used extensively throughout, the Civil War. This example is stamped "N.P. AMES CABOTVILLE 1847" on one side of the blade and "US" "N W P." on the reverse side. Very good condition.

K1703 Early Mallard Drake duck decoy carved by James "Jim" Alexander Currier (1886-1971). Original paint in very good condition. Currier, a well-known and respected carver, lived and carved in Havre de Grace, Maryland.

K1690 19th century Seaman’s chest in original red painted surface with wonderful hand painted artwork of the British flagged Ship “Imogene” on the lid, along with the initials “V R” and date “1885”. (HMS Imogene of the Royal Navy launched June 24, 1831). The front panel bears the name “S. WELCH” with “COOK” painted below the name. Chest is dovetailed construction with applied molding around lid and base and strap hinges. Original iron handles remain intact on each end. Clean, natural patina interior boasts an open top till with drawer below.

K1670 Late 19th century original blue painted Pie Safe with 12 punched tin panels. The tins on the front have stars and on the sides the tins have stars inside circles. Two doors over one drawer configuration, resting on tall legs. Stenciled maker’s mark on back reads “G & SON”.

K1654 19th century very unusual Deep turned treenware wooden footed Bowl stamped “VSO” bearing original bittersweet red painted surface. Bowl was most likely used for making butter – where the unusual hole and carved area on bottom of the foot was used for draining purposes.

K1634 Early 19th century Pennsylvania paint decorated half spindle back settee bearing original brown painted surface with decorative mustard pinstriping and fruit motif, one board plank seat with pinstripe decoration, scrolled arms bearing pin striping, turned spindles, and rests on turned painted legs. The wood is pine. Often called a "Deacon's" or Hall Bench, this sturdy example is from about 1840.

K1679 Two miniature duck decoys carved by Oliver “Tuts” Lawson (1938- ) of Crisfield, Maryland. One is a miniature Mallard Hen (8 ¼” long x 3” wide x 3 ½” tall) and the other is a miniature Pintail Hen (8 ¼” long x 3” wide x 3 ¼” tall). Both are balsa wood bodies with slightly turned heads and original painted surfaces. Paper label from the Duck House, Rumbley, Maryland remains intact on the underside of Pintal.

K1681 Signed and dated Wigeon Duck Decoy carved by R. Madison Mitchell (1901-1993) from Havre de Grace Maryland. Decoy retains its original painted surface and bears electric pencil signature / date: "R. Madison Mitchell – 1960”, along with original weight, staple and ring on bottom. Decoy has a great dry surface never oiled or waxed.

K1640 Early handmade Folk Art wooden boat model with the name “PARADE” on one side of the bow. Great details include scalloped railings, round and oblong windows with what appears to be real glass, shiplap sides and a full wooden keel that extends the length of the boat.

The single masted ship in full sails boasts a large letter “P” on its main sail and is flying an American flag. The case does not open. Boats inside appear to be made of wood with cloth/fiber rigging and sails. Engraved metal plate attached on front of showcase reads “A. Palisi Sr.”

The highly detailed, unnamed ship is made of what appears to be a salt glazed style pottery with stitched cloth sails and hand painted water. The glass panes (one has a corner crack) are enclosed in a removeable metal case that retains its mustard paint decorated surface.

K274 Unusual 19th century Pennsylvania Merchant's Desk with unique hidden hinged drop-down writing surface in old blue painted surface. Desk boasts drawers and pigeonholes in the top section for added storage. The top board is hinged so that it can be raised to utilize the top row pigeonholes for sorting taller items. The lower section, known as a kneehole style, boasts two doors and a center drawer. Circa 1870s.

K1117 Original red painted wooden bowl. This heavy bowl is out of round and rests on a slightly raised foot. Bowl boasts slow turned lathe marks and a wide band around the top edge separated by a deeply incised ring encircling the bowl. Interior shows evidence of slow turnings, chop marks throughout, and varied patina levels. There is an early break that goes completely through part of the rim / side that has been secured at some point with tiny metal staples. Measurements: 13” x 12 ¼” top diameter x 2 ¾” x 3 ¼” tall – depending on where measured.

A very detailed hand-painted scene of St. Paul Academy for Girls on the top of the lid. Writing below the scene reads: “RESIDENCE OF ST. PAUL ACADEMY FOR GIRLS NO. 26 ARCH ST. SCRANTON PA MADE BY ELIZA FAIRMAN HER 2ND YEAR 1858” The clean interior is lined with pages of “The Scranton Republican” (Scranton, Pennsylvania) newspaper dated January 21, 1858. A photograph of a well-dressed woman with “Love, Mother” handwritten on the front is attached to the interior center of the lid and surrounded with a make-shift medallion with delicate, handsewn silk pansy blossoms attached to three of the corners. Several clippings of drawings/prints are also found attached inside the box. Well preserved in great condition! Measurements: 14 ¼” x 11 1/8” oval x 12 ¼” tall.

RM1547 Civil War Ames Model 1840 Heavy Cavalry Saber Sword with scabbard. This model saber was called the "wrist breaker” as it is a relatively heavy cavalry saber that was manufactured before, and used extensively throughout, the Civil War. This example is dated 1850 on the blade and has the AMES Maker’s stamp on the reverse. The blade is bright and bears the Soldier’s Rack number (44) stamped on both the hilt and on the bottom of the drag of the scabbard. Very good condition.

This small stoneware pitcher was made in Baltimore circa 1850 to 1870. It is decorated in cobalt with a two-stemmed flowering plant, along with flowers on the rim and highlights at the handle terminals. Measurements: 10 ¼” tall.

**SOLD** K30 Pair of Bufflehead decoys – original surfaces with glass eyes and original weights intact on bottoms. The attached tag reads: Attributed to carver Jim Van Brunt of Seatauket, NY (1902-1978). All original. These decoys were gunned over on Long Island Sound in the 1950s. Rare decoys as only a few were made for this diminutive and fishy tasting duck. Made of native white pine.

**SOLD** K45 Signed and dated Blue Wing Teal duck decoy carved by Madison Mitchell (1901-1993) of Havre DeGrace, Maryland. Decoy bears its original painted surface featuring scratch painted wings. Engraved on bottom: “R. Madison Mitchell 1981”.

CP2 (P188) Exceptional early 19th century Augusta County, Virginia Food Safe / Pie Safe bearing its original salmon paint boasting the original hand-punched/pierced star tins, an applied gallery, and two drawers resting on high, tapered legs. The tins feature stars inside a circle, and are typical Shenandoah Valley, Virginia style with two rectangular oversized tins joined together by crimped/overlapping joints to create the visual effect of one very large tin on each door and both ends. The creatively placed punched quarter circles and rows of wide horizontal punches that accent the encircled stars on each of the individual tins create multiple visually appealing patterns when the tins are adjoined. Clean, natural patina interior. Mortised and pegged with square head nail construction. Circa 1820-1840.

**SOLD** K9 Very early 20th century pair of matching solid cast iron Pineapple finials with geometric diamond shaped details on top with a series of detailed curved leaves below. Surface retains several layers of old white paint. Each finial is impressed with a marking that reads: ‘108 J’. Hole inside the bottom for mounting purposes. Extremely heavy. Circa 1900-1920s.

K20 1930s original red painted Handlan Railroad Train Signal Lantern stamped "Handlan St. Louis USA" and "BUG CO" around the top. Lantern retains the original thick red glass globe that is marked “Handlan-Buck”.

BF1 (H58) Late 19th century Painted Wood Duck Pull Toy with beautiful colors of pumpkin and green and black. The Wings flap up and down when the Duck is pulled forward. It is mounted on a wooden base with wooden wheels in working condition.

J217 Extremely rare Lancaster County, Pennsylvania bucket bench / dry sink featuring an overhanging well with a drawer and a mortised open shelf below the center section of the well. The surface retains traces of old gray paint over the original red paint, and bears extensive wear indicative of many years of repetitive use. The notched groove drain hole prominently remains in the overhang of the well. The drawer opens to reveal a divided section for utensils. One board, square head nail construction with nice, half-moon cut out ends Circa 1830’s – 1840’s.

Applied molding accents adorn the front corners and around each of the doors. Two doors over one door configuration, with all doors being fully mortised and wooden pegged. The upper doors open to reveal a red painted interior with three shelves, each bearing plate grooves for storage and display purposes.

18th century Maryland pumpkin painted Hepplewhite one drawer table boasting long, delicately tapered legs and one dovetailed drawer. Rosehead nail construction with the apron of the table being mortised into the legs and secured with wooden pegs.

J128 19th Century Pennsylvania original red painted blanket chest with dovetailed case, applied dovetailed bracket base with cut out feet and applied molded edges around the lid. Nice hand inlaid escutcheon around the keyhole appears to be made of either bone or ivory. Clean, natural patina interior boasting original strap hinges, a molded edge lidded till and original crab lock.

J152 Pennsylvania paint decorated wooden foot stool retaining original black painted surface with remnants of floral paint decoration on the top and simple pinstriping accents on the apron and each of the slightly splayed legs. The drop aprons on each side are mortised into the legs and boast a nice cut out that matches the cut out on each leg/foot. Chamfered edges along the top show extensive wear indicative of years of use. Circa 1840-1850’s.
