RM1636 Late 18th century to early 19th century pewter oil lamp sometimes called a “slush lamp”. These were used in place of wax candles to burn much cheaper fuel sources such as whale oil or other fats. This design features a center shaft with central drip tray and top reservoir with wick holder where the oil was placed and a wick was lit to provide light.
Measurements: 6” diameter (bottom) x ~4 ½” deep at top (including handle) x ~10” tall.
