L541 Late 18th to early 19th century Pennsylvania pin top worktable with an extra thick one-board top and mortised and pegged apron resting on sturdy, gradually tapered legs bearing its original creamy pale-yellow painted surface. The top is attached to the base via a stretcher beneath each side that is mortised/dovetailed into the top and attached to the base with thick wooden pegs (see photos). These stretchers kept the top from twisting/warping over time. The top is actually one board that has split across the center from age. The apron is fully mortised and pegged into the gracefully tapered legs. The wood is pine.
Measurements: 30 ¼” wide x 24” deep x 30 ¾” tall. The top is a full 1 5/8” thick. The boards that make up the apron are a full 1” thick. Clearance from apron to floor is 22 ½”.
