L539 19th century identified and dated original green painted box – with “Rufus Prince 1848 – 1849” painted in yellow with visible remnants of yellow pinstriping along the edges of the box. Natural patina interior. The wood is pine, with a combination of “T” nails and small square head nail construction. NOTE: Rufus Prince (1829-1883) was from Bangor, Penobscot, Maine.
Measurements: 14” wide x 8 ¼” deep x 6 ¾” tall.
