L483 Early 19th century Pennsylvania painted pine School Master's Desk with original dry blue paint and the initials “B.M.” prominently painted on the back. Desk rests on gracefully tapered hepplewhite legs that are mortised and pegged to the apron. Applied molding secured with sturdy square head nails surrounds the slanted lift lid that opens to reveal a clean, natural patina interior.
Measurements: 31 ¼” wide x 21 ¾” deep x 34” tall (back) x 29 ½” tall (front). Clearance from apron to floor is 21 ¼”.
