X15 Early 19th century Sampler stitched by Alison Duncan constructed of primarily red and green, with a small amount of black threads, stitched onto linen fabric. Features rows of repeating alphabets in capital letters with bands of geometric shapes separating each row. A nicely stitched zig-zag border encompasses the entire sampler. There are thirty-four (34) sets of initials hand stitched in the lower half of the sampler, just above the maker’s name. Provenance on back indicates this Sampler was purchased from an Estate sale in Frederick Maryland in March 1991. Measurements: 10 3/8" wide x 17 3/8" tall (framed)
