RM1523 Canvasback decoy carved by Scott Jackson (1852-1929) from Charlestown, MD. Great surface with second coat of working paint showing prominent brush strokes. A tag attached to bottom reads: “Collection of Dr. Edgar Burke…Species Canvasback…Locality…North East, Maryland….1880”. Tight crack to neck. Original weight and staple intact on bottom. Circa 1880s.
