**SOLD** RM1519 American 45 Star Flag stamped “Horstmann Phila” on one edge and “4 X 8 FT” on the reverse edge. Linen with double sided appliqued stars. Machine stitching throughout. There are legible handwritten names in various places along the edges that read: “H. J. Jackson”, and “Willson”, as well as an additional unreadable name (and/or date). Very good condition with very small age holes. Circa 1896-1908.
(NOTE: William H. Horstmann & Sons began in 1815 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was a major Military supply-goods maker, dress trimmings and Flag maker.)
