K83 19th century Pennsylvania mortar and pestle bearing original, dry blue-gray painted surface. Nicely turned solid wood with rounded rim and decorative raised rings encircling the mortar, resting on a footed base. The pestle has a gracefully shaped turned handle with bulbous end that shows extensive wear from years of use. Natural patina interior. No cracks.
Measurements: 5 ¼” diameter (bottom) x 4 ¾” diameter (top) x 6 ¾” tall. The pestle measures 8 ½” long.
