**SOLD** K173 Rare, early 19th century original green and black Smoke paint Decorated Lancaster County, Pennsylvania dovetailed document box bearing the initials “I.H.H.” with a leaf motif on each end of the letters painted in gold along the front edge of the lid. A brass Hepplewhite Federal style handle / pull is attached to the top center of the lid and bears what appears to be the initials “I H” engraved into the side of the handle itself. Exceptional original painted surface. Clean, natural patina interior. The wood is poplar.
Measurements: 16” wide x 5 ½” deep x 5 ¼” tall.
