J453 Mid 19th century original gray painted cutlery tray / knife box bearing canted sides and slightly raised center with cutout handle for carrying. A nice bevel edge surrounds the bottom board. Great wear indicative of years of use. Square head nail construction. Circa 1840s. Measurements: 13 ¾” x 9" x 6" tall (center).
