H975 Wonderful oil painting on board depicting a gathering of people enjoying a leisurely picnic beside, and a boat ride on, the lake. There is even the back part of a dog depicted in the painting – where else but enjoying crumbs beneath the table. The elegant women’s clothing depicted in the painting is of the late 1860’s. Painting is prominently dated ‘1869’ on the back. (There is other writing on the back, however most of it is faded and indecipherable.)
Framed measurements: 9” wide x 7 ¼” tall. Viewing area measures 5 ½” wide x 3 ¾” tall.
